2010 - VIP established Arizona Career Pathways, a long-term training initiative that moves people from poverty into living wage, in-demand careers in Maricopa County. Modeled after the nationally-recognized IAF Labor Market Intermediaries, this strategy partners with Maricopa Community Colleges to provide targeted training and wrap-around support to meet the needs of employers and training participants.
The needs of families affected by disability and frailty gave VIP leaders the motivation to develop a pilot program with Phoenix College to train healthcare workers to provide respite care.
