2015 - Leveraged $26.6M for Tempe & Scottsdale Public Schools by passing school override ballot measures.
2014 - Faced with massive cuts to public education, VIP ran dozens of civic academies for parents, teachers, and students across the Valley, explaining how 30 years of budget decisions had systematically dismantled Arizona's public schools. Parent leaders tied these sessions to local issues like bond/override elections and reduced busing.
2009 - Championed the development and expansion of after school and summer recreation programs in Phoenix, securing $2.7 million for after school enrichment programs. This developed into a long-term fight to expand library hours in successive budget seasons, impacting thousands of Phoenix children and youth.
2000 - VIP organized to pass Proposition 301 to establish an inflation factor for K-12 public education. When the measure was stopped in 2008, VIP leaders pushed back through get-out-the vote campaigns in Tempe, Scottsdale, El Mirage, Chandler and Gilbert, securing approval of override and bond elections that provided $444 million in critical funding for school districts.

When a settlement of the Prop 301 inflation funding suit was finally reached in 2016, VIP presented updated civic academies that emphasized the need for the state to identify additional revenues for public education.
