2024 - Worked to advance state legislation to address long-term affordable housing through “Yes in God’s Backyard” (YIGBY) legislation to encourage congregations to convert unused land into affordable housing by adjusting zoning criteria. While the legislation ultimately failed to pass, it sparked a wave of interest in YIGBY at the municipal level.
2023 - VIP, allies persuaded City of Mesa to transform a hotel into emergency transitional housing for unhoused residents.
1994 - Formed the Valley Community Revitalization Project in Maryvale and secured $750,000 in funding for down payment assistance to 40 families who purchased once vacant homes.
