Best Practices to Help Ensure a Smooth Election Process

 

We must all do our part to make sure that all ballots get counted and the process unfolds smoothly.  Make sure you have a plan to vote, do it as early as possible and be ready to assist othersScroll down for helpful links.

Early Ballots:  Mail before October 20, or return to a Vote Center or Ballot Drop-off location before election day, Nov. 3.  Getting your early ballot in before election day is extremely important for helping to expedite the ballot-counting process.

Vote on election day:  Know where you are going to vote and make sure you have the proper identification with you. (See "What to Bring to the Polls"  https://azsos.gov/elections/voting-election)

Election Timeline

  • October 7:  Early Ballots Mailed Out and Early Voting Starts
  • October 20:  Recommended date to return ballot by U.S. mail. After this
    return it to any voting location or secure ballot-drop box in your county by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.
  • October 15:  Voter Registration Deadline
    (This extended deadline is the result of a court order.)
  • October 23: Last day to request an early ballot or sign up for the Permanent Early Voting List.
  • November 3: Election Day.  All ballots must be received by 7:00 p.m.

  1. Vote by Mail:  
    To Request a ballot, find a Ballot Drop-Off location, or track your ballot:
  1. Vote Early at a Voter Center
  2. Vote on Election Day, Nov. 3, in person at a Vote Center, or drop off your early ballot
