Earlier in the week, thanks to outreach from countless VIP leaders and others, the State Legislature had approved a one-time override of the spending cap for school districts in the current school year.  While that last-minute fix was welcome, the long-term outlook has Arizona revisiting this crisis every year until voters can repeal the outdated spending limit.

Sen. Pace and Bowie were among the first legislators who showed leadership on raising the Expenditure Limit this year. It is time for us to call on all our Legislators to refer the question to voters, to permanently remove the antiquated Spending Limit that has us stuck with a 1980 education model and rooted at the bottom among states for our investment in education.

Call your State Representatives and State Senator today:  Ask them to refer a repeal of the Spending Limit to the voters. Find your legislator here.  Read our fact sheet on the Spending Limit here.
