VIP Organizes Hope for Affordable Housing in Maricopa County

Valley Interfaith Project (VIP) led the charge in advocating for the Sonoran Landings project, which would provide 272 affordable housing units to low-income seniors and veterans.

Leaders held a press conference on December 9th to build support for the project, highlighting the severe need for affordable housing in Maricopa County, where over 2,000 seniors are homeless and the median rent is $2,301 in Chandler.

"As clergy, our job is to stand up for what is right,” said VIP Leader Rev. Sarah Oglesby-Dunegan, Valley Unitarian Universalist. “Let me be clear: there is no argument against this proposal that outweighs the desperate need for affordable housing in our community. None."
